Not every protective or braided style needs to be painful especially if you are new to braids, have a sensitive scalp, or have had a chemicals applied to your hair recently. I am not trying to deceive you about the pain of braids, depending on the style that you choose IT WILL HURT! The styles that I do not consider to be protective styles such as Individuals/Singles, Micro/Zillion/Invisible braids hurt the most and can cause lots of damage to your hairline. The protective styles that I most often recommend for children or those with sensitive scalps are cornrows or a variation of cornrows.
My youngest client is almost two years old and it takes about 2 hours to do her hair, instead of expecting her to sit still for a couple of hours I will lay her on a pillow and gently braid. Because of the minimal tension placed on the hair, even the most sensitive clients are able to go to sleep while their hair is braided.
Some expect pain to be associated with "Doing Hair" but it does not have to be that way. I learned to work with hair in a gentle manner by first working with my little sister who had long, thick, and kinky curly textured hair. My mother taught me how to keep the tangles from causing pain and tears and eventually my sister's waist long hair became my chore. My mother ran a daycare from home and many of the parents would witness me doing my sister's hair and she was not complaining. The parents would ask that the child's hair be complete by the time they were to pick them up at the end of the work day. I would spend all day braiding a variety of textures of hair until it was second nature, it was also the creative outlet that I needed that babysitting just didn't give me. I braided and my friends babysat, this practice allowed me to put myself through college doing braids and eventually weaves and dreadlocks.
Miss Jazzy Styles
Welcome To Jazzy Styles! My background in daycare, foster care, and my beautiful mixed race family have blessed me with the knowledge and patience to handle children as young as 1year old. My gently crafted braid and lock art combined with my growth formula (patent pending) create a greenhouse effect which stimulates growth which averages one inch per month even on clients with thinning hair and hair that has not grown in years.

Flat Line sew in
I have been working on this no braid, no glue, no micro ring sew in although this method is not for everyone. The straighter the hair the better this method works and especially if you are a client that chooses to wash their hair often and prefers to have access to the scalp.
The growth formula is not included in this style since there are no braids available to create a greenhouse effect when combined with the growth formula. The method that is very similar to this but a bit healthier for the hair is the Malaysian sew in install method using the micro rings, it also is easier to remove from naturally curly hair. This install method with string alone is $30 per track to install and the micro ring method is $25 per track to install. Dreadlock Designs....Lock Art
I strongly encourage lock art for my clients especially during periods of regrowing, reconstructing, or repairing locks. This client's shorter locks that we are encouraging to grow are touched up with the growth formula that is specifically mixed for Miss Jazzy of Jazzy Braidz. After the growth mixture is heated up against the scalp locks are placed into a style which mixes with gentle but firm tension against the scalp and rushes blood to the scalp to deliver nutrients to STRONGLY ENCOURAGE a greenhouse effect!

In this desert the styles also pull the hot hair off of your neck, or off of your face to make these temperatures more bearable. More exposed scalp does mean that you may have to get some spray sunblock to keep your scalp from burning, however more exposed scalp means heat will leave your body faster. All styles are not for all clients but we will figure out what is best for your hair and personality.
